We are pleased to invite you to the lecture that will take place at the library of the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Knez Mihailova 35/IV) on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

During the event, Dr. Marija Runić, a linguist from the University of Banja Luka, and Rossella Montibeler, representative of the Italian community in the Council of National Minorities of the Republika Srpska, will present the linguistic archive of the Stivor dialect – Stivorling. This archive is the result of a collaboration between the local community and researchers, aimed at preserving the linguistic heritage of Stivor and making it accessible both to the local population and to the academic community.

Following a brief overview of the main linguistic features of the dialect, the speakers will discuss its current level of endangerment, as well as the potential uses of the archive for language preservation and academic research. Future projects dedicated to the protection of this dialect will also be presented.
