Within the course Typology and Linguistic Variation of the Master’s program in Linguistics at the University of Padova, Professor Marija Runic presented the linguistic archive StivorLing, dedicated to the Stivor dialect. The presentation, entitled “StivorLing: Preserving the Linguistic Heritage of the Stivor Dialect”, generated great interest among the university’s students.
The Stivor dialect, being part of the group of Venetian dialects, offered students an interesting opportunity to engage with a related linguistic variety that developed in a different historical and cultural context. The presentation also highlighted the importance of linguistic research and documentation for the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
